The employment services of the City of Ikaalinen are looking for a permanent specialist position starting September 1, 2026 or according to agreement.

We are looking for a competent and collaborative business and employer services expert to join our professional and supportive work community for a permanent position starting September 1, 2026.
The specialist's task is to implement service processes in accordance with the Läntinen Pirkanmaa employment region and the municipality-specific operating model together with the region's and municipality's employment service personnel. The specialist mainly meets clients face-to-face and, if necessary, utilizes other service channels appropriate to the situation.
The expert's clients are entrepreneurs and employers in Ikaali, as well as individual clients of employment services.
The tasks of Business and Employer Services include assessing and responding to the service needs of businesses and employers, as well as advising starting entrepreneurs. You will be an active member of the city's business team and participate in the development of employment and business services in the area.
The job seeker's service process includes information and advice services, service needs assessment, preparation of an employment plan or a replacement plan, implementation of services, referral to services, and monitoring of the implementation of the employment plan or its replacement plan.
The job description also includes conducting statutory training courses for the employment authority together with other experts.
Customer service makes extensive use of electronic tools and guides the customer to use the digital tools offered by the information society. The task includes official tasks such as investigations and statements related to unemployment security and official decisions related to services. Building a service path requires knowledge of public employment services, the operating environment and services, mastery of the laws, instructions and regulations that guide the work, and the ability to apply them.
The employment and integration services of the City of Ikaalinen consist of employment services, business services, a start-up workshop, youth work, integration services and contact point services. We offer diverse and demanding work, as well as the flexible operating methods of a small city and diverse employee benefits. You will have strong support from your supervisor and team.
The applicant is required to have a suitable university degree, training in business consulting, and previous experience in similar positions.
We expect the applicant to have: a strong, independent and active approach to work, the ability to withstand pressure and be flexible in changing situations, excellent customer service, interaction and work community skills, digital service expertise, the ability to work in various networks, and a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
We consider it an advantage to have a development-oriented work approach, experience in business and employer roles, knowledge of the region's economic structure, labor market situation and mismatch needs, and knowledge of the education system.
The position will be filled from 1 September 2026 or by agreement. The position is subject to a six-month probationary period. The basic salary is €3060,32 and the working hours are office hours.

💃 Nostalgia dances on the Hällstö stage starting at 19 pm, Wegeliuksenkatu 102. The program includes music, memoirs and atmospheres from the 1950s. Ikaalisten Pelimannit, soloist Anne Kasittula.

Built in 1922, the Röyhio Village Hall began its life as a school, and since 2002 the building has been owned by the Röyhio Village Association, at Karpanperäntie 5/10. 🏡🙂
The former classrooms now serve as hobby, meeting, gathering and party spaces, and the old school kitchen has been renovated into a catering kitchen. The Iivarinsali and Matinsali are located downstairs, and the upper floor has two classrooms for hobby use and a library. 📚
There is plenty of activity at the village hall and its courtyard all year round: village events, parties, gatherings and volunteer work are organised, and there is also a Summer Theater Seleentakuset. 🎭🤝

The 𝗘𝗼𝗮̈𝘆𝘼̈𝘆𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝘆𝘘𝘘𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗻 is located on the second floor of the building and offers a workstation for remote work, studying, or other work that requires concentration. The space has an adjustable desk and chair, wireless internet access, as well as a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker.
We talked about remote work with Matti Järvenpää, secretary-treasurer of Röyhiö Village Association. Matti has been involved in the activities of the village association for a long time and continues to perform the same duties. 🏅

The two-day Finnish Drag Racing Championships were held at Kyrösjärvi in Ikaalinen on Friday, August 7.8th and Saturday, August 8.8th. 🚤
Who won? The answers will be revealed on Kalastajan Kanava, through which you can follow the crowning of the 2026 Finnish trolling champions on Kyrösjärvi. After the awards ceremony, the Kalastajan Kanava team will interview the new champions. 🎥👏

Vatulanharju is a beautiful outdoor and recreational area in Ikaalisi all year round. The area has walking and mountain bike trails, cross-country ski trails, rest areas and a 4,5-kilometer nature trail along which you can explore the nature and history of Vatula. There is also a 9-hole frisbee golf course near the ski lodge.
Vatulanharju–Ulvaanharju forms a ridge section over 10 kilometers long. You can walk at your own pace, stop for a break, or just enjoy the peace of the pine forest in the scenery of the ridge. 🌲🥾
Even though the Vestivals are over for this year, you can head to Vatulanharju all year round to get outdoors and explore the landscapes. 💚

Vatulanharju Vesti Elections -event was today, August 8.8th. Ikaalisi is full of relaxing activities for the whole family – from horse rides to rock painting, frisbee golf, raffles and much more. 🌿☀️🙂
One of the highlights of the day was Airi Käkelä's reading of Antero Saunanen's poems at the Vatulanharju open house. At the house, sausages were fried with the help of Martta, and at 14 pm we stopped to listen to poems, songs and speeches. 🎤🔥
Vestivaalit also offered a nice day out for the younger members of the family, and people came from all over to enjoy the scenic trails and relaxed atmosphere of Vatulanharju. 🌲

The area has great outdoor and exercise opportunities in all seasons. At the Vestival, we enjoyed the ridge nature, local history, animals, accordion music and togetherness in the August summer sun. 🎶🐴
The minibus took us to the open-air hut and the scenery of the ridge. We could use colors and creativity in the stone painting workshop. In addition to coffee, there were wild food tastings and guidance on natural raw materials – and during the day we also had the opportunity to play mölkky, croquet and frisbee golf. 🎨🥾🎯
