The Kylmälahti beach is a shared beach for the villages in the Kovelahti area. The Kovelahti-Koverannan Village Association implemented a project with Leader funding in 2010-2014 to improve the Kylmälahti beach area.
During the project, the following was accomplished with volunteer efforts and project funding: clearing the area of brushwood and bushes and other cleaning of the area, expanding the parking lot, dredging the beach area and placing sand, a hut and a fixed outdoor table and bench group, as well as a new picnic table and locker room renovation.
With the support of the project, the beach was also acquired campfire hut, which is primarily accessible to residents of villages and cottagers in the Kovelahti area. Below are the rules for using the hut. The rules can also be found in the PDF file on the right.
