Discover the village of Tevaniemi

The area of ​​the Tevaniemen kyläseura Ry village association includes the villages of Tevaniemi, Miettinen and Kallionkieli, as well as the areas of Heinistö and Sorvanperä.

The villages are located on the shores of the beautiful Kyrösjärvi Lake. Teva is old Finnish and means stag. Tevaniemi is therefore a very appropriate name given to the area by ancient wilderness men.

The distance from Tevaniemi to the centre of Ikaalinen is 26 km. In winter, the distance is shortened to 14 km along the official ice road. The distance from Tevaniemi to the centre of Parkano is 21 km.

Kallionkieli has a so-called cluster village as an attraction, where the buildings of several farms are located right next to each other.

Miettinen village has a beautiful old stone pier on the shore. There is also a church boat shed on the shore. Church boats were used to travel across Lake Kyrösjärvi to the township.

To the north of Tevaniemi there are beautiful natural sites, including the Ojajärvi, Ahvenlammi and Vehola areas, which are located along the Pirkan ura outdoor trail.

The Tevaniemi Village association area is a vibrant and active region with a lot of entrepreneurship in, for example, agriculture and forestry, transportation and earthwork, and various small businesses.

The working area is extensive; people work in Tampere, for example. There are many summer residents in the area. The area has its own village school.

Thanks to the beautiful lakeside setting of Lake Kyrösjärvi, there are many summer cottages in the area and the population increases significantly in the summer.
