Levonsuo solar power plant construction permit application

Kandalos Project 8 Oy (Helios Nordic Energy Finland Oy) is applying for a building permit pursuant to Section 125 of the Land Use and Building Act for the construction of a solar power plant. The project consists of five areas for which a joint building permit is being applied for. The project is located in the area of ​​properties 143-403-3-14, 143-403-3-15, 143-426-1-68, 143-426-1-51, 143-426-1-62 and 143-426-1-75, as well as in part of properties 143-403-3-32, 143-403-4-18, 143-426-2-33, 143-426-1-70 and 143-426-1-65.

In addition to the solar panel fields, the fenced solar power plant area will also include a main substation with high-voltage transformers, substations with medium-voltage transformers, and battery storage and retrieval containers. The electricity transmission lines from the substations will be brought mainly as underground cables to the main substation, from where the grid connection will be implemented.

The area to be built is located entirely within the city of Ikaalinen, west of Highway 3 from the Parkano city border in the direction of Riitiala and Särkiperä. Access to the area is via Highway 3. The planned area of ​​the solar power plant is approximately 141,4 hectares.

The total nominal power of the Levonsuo solar power plant planned to be built is approximately 112 MWp, and the planned electricity production is approximately 99 GWh per year.

The Enviroment Committee has granted the project Planning Decision on October 1.10.2025.
