The project preparation was guided by a group chaired by the chairman of the technical committee and members including representatives from central administration, education and technical services. In addition, various user groups of the sports hall have been consulted during the planning process.

The starting point of the project was to build a new building on the same plot as the old one.

The new building would have a usable area of 2,888 m², a gross area of 3,030 m² and a volume of 19,568 m³. The building is partly two-storey. The hall of the White Rose Arena can be divided into four sections. The stage also serves as a hall of mirrors. The building will include a gym, a grandstand, a running track, an eSports area, office rooms and the necessary changing and washing facilities. The clear height of the hall is eight metres. The exterior walls of the building are sheet metal sandwich elements, the frame is made of concrete or steel columns. The roofing material is felt.

The project plan was designed by:

  • Design House PPG Oy / Architectural Architect Heli Palvela and Project Manager Teemu Saari (architectural and general design)
  • Engineering office Sartekno Oy / electrical design by Jari Kivistö and plumbing design by Arto Kovalainen.
