Council for the elderly and disabled
The Council for the Elderly and Disabled is an advocacy body established by the Ikaalinen City Council. It is a channel for influencing and listening to the population groups it represents. The Council works for the benefit of the people of Ikaalinen, for example by taking initiatives and issuing statements and positions.
- The Council meets four to five times a year.
- The Council for the Elderly and Disabled has the right to request the chairpersons of the council and the institutions (committees) to be present and speak at meetings of various institutions on matters that concern them.

Municipal Act, Sections 27 and 28
The Council for the Elderly and Disabled must be given the opportunity to influence the planning, preparation and monitoring of the activities of various municipal departments in matters that are of importance to the elderly population and disabled people.
