A person may vote in advance at home if their ability to move and function is limited to such an extent that they cannot reach an advance voting location in their home country or a polling station on election day without unreasonable difficulties.

In this case, an election officer appointed by the municipal central election board will arrive at the appointed time and take the vote.

In the 2024 presidential election, voters must notify their municipality's Central Election Board of their desire to vote at home in writing or by telephone. no later than Tuesday 16.1.2024 May 16 before XNUMX pm ja in a possible second election on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 by 4 p.m. The Central Election Board's telephone number and address can be found on the notification card that the voter received by post. A person of the voter's choice can also make the notification on their behalf.

In connection with home voting, a caregiver referred to in the Act on Support for Informal Care and who lives in the same household as the home voter can also vote, link to another site in the Act on Support for Informal Care (937/2005). The voting of a carer must be reported to the municipal central election board at the same time as the registration for home voting is made.

In home voting, in addition to the voter, a person who has reached the age of 18 chosen or approved by the voter must be present. This person cannot be a candidate in the elections.
