City coat of arms

17.4.1956, Pentti Papunen “In a golden field, a blue pole, with three silver oars next to it”

The pile and oars depict the importance of waterways to the life of the town, from the ancient beginnings of the North to the church boat era. After the merger of the rural municipality and the town of Ikaaliste in 1972, the rural municipality's coat of arms was chosen as the town coat of arms.

The themes include the town's location along a waterway and the plantations of hardwood trees. Although the town's coat of arms became unofficial in 1972, it is used in the city's communications to symbolize the town's identity.

Ikaalinen logo

The complex and multidimensional symbolism of the Ikaalinen logo depicts nature as well as growth and development. The harmonious pattern conveys the closeness, safety and strength of a small town.

White Rose®
