PARTICIPATORY BUDGETING 2026: Results

A total of 534 votes were cast in the voting phase of participatory budgeting, of which 52 were rejected because the voter was not a resident of Ikaalinen, had not given his or her full name, or had voted for more than one proposal.

Since the vote count resulted in a tie between the renovation of the Kilvakkala outdoor gym and the Tevaniemi swimming pool, the situation was resolved by drawing lots. The Kilvakkala village association won the draw and also received Leader funding for the project, so the outdoor gym project will be implemented as planned.

The following three proposals will reach the implementation stage:

1. Ferry service to Kyrösjärvi, 83 votes, cost estimate €6500
2. Kovelahti yurt sauna and changing room renovation, 72 votes, cost estimate is €8000
3. Kilvakkala to move – outdoor gym, 71 votes, cost estimate €7000

The remaining votes were distributed as follows:

4. Renovation of Tevaniemi swimming area, 71 votes, cost estimate €7650
5. Landscaping to open up lake views, 52 votes
6. Pitkospuut in the wet areas of the route leading to the Paskonnokka lean-to, 48 votes
7. Luhalahti swimming pool changing room/maintenance building, 47 votes
8. Mobile sales stand, 14 votes
9. Developing Rahkola's summer activities with small purchases, 10 votes
10. Benches for the market area, 10 votes
11. Sun loungers for beaches, 4 votes
