Criteria for Participatory Budgeting 2026
The purpose of the criteria is to eliminate proposals from the vote that cannot be implemented in practice. Those submitting rejected ideas will be informed of the reason for the rejection.
Criteria for participatory budgeting in Ikaalinen:
- The proposal is of public interest and generally available to municipal residents.
- The proposal must be in line with the objectives of the Ikaalinen Municipal Strategy 2026-2032.
- The idea is in line with the municipality's values and decisions and complies with Finnish law.
- The idea can be implemented within the scope of the municipality's jurisdiction. The implementing party can also be an association operating in Ikaalinen The association must be willing to participate in the further development phase.
- The activity presented in the proposal is non-profit.
- The implementation of the idea does not require ongoing high maintenance costs, nor does it lead to the hiring of permanent staff in the municipal organization. Participatory budgeting finances services and activities that are of fixed duration, but not the organization of events.
- The proposal is non-discriminatory and promotes equality.
- Participatory budgeting does not finance research or planning, the organization of events, the basic operations of associations, or the renovation and maintenance of buildings.
- An idea will not be included in further development if it is already implemented as part of the municipality's operations or if the cost of the idea exceeds the available budget.
- The measures in the proposal will be implemented during 2026.
