The Greening Department is responsible for the maintenance of outdoor sports facilities maintained by the City of Ikaalinen.

Outdoor sports and leisure areas in Ikaalinen include:

CENTRAL RINKS The central rinks are located in the Old Town Hall of Ikaalinen, on Lehmustie, next to Ikaalinen Yhteiskoulu and Lukio, on the shore of Lake Kyrösjärvi. THE CENTER / SPA SKI TRACKS The illuminated ski tracks of the Center / Spa include the Toivolansaari (1,5 km), Kiviniemi (1,3 km) and Spa (4,0 km) tracks.

VILLAGE / DISTRICT SETTLEMENT SKI TRACKS Vatula Ski Centre, Laiteentie 22. Kilvakkala School Ski Trails, Kovelahti track, Luhalahti and Tevaniemi illuminated ski tracks.

KALMAA AND KIVINIEM NATURE TRAIL Kalmaa and Kiviniemi 6,5 km long nature trail in the beautiful shores of Lake Kyrösjärvi. Along the route, marked with the city's titular bird, the blue tit, there are 15 information boards that tell about the nature and history of the area.

VATULA FRISBEE GOLF COURSE A 9-hole Frisbee golf course on Vatulaharju. The course is intended for practicing throws and outdoor activities. The starting point is at Palinperäntie 1323, near the Vatula ski lodge.

VATULA NATURE TRAIL There is a nature trail on Vatula Ridge, approximately 4,5 km long, with 13 question boards related to Vatula's nature and history. The boards also have a playful fitness exercise and QR codes, which you can follow to find additional information and tips for answering the questions on the boards. The starting point is at Palinperäntie 1323, near the Vatula ski lodge.

RAHKOSENMÄKI There is a 1,8km long forest trail at Rahkosenmäki. There are two starting points for the trail, Patrakantie 10 and Kolmen airon street on the left side of the fire station.
