You can register for courses:

1) At the address: uusi.opistopalvelut.fi/ikaalinen
Registration for the 2026-2027 academic year begins on Friday, August 15th at 8:30 AM.

* In the study guide, each course has a course number, which you can use to search for the course via quick search. Courses can also be searched for via subject search.
* For registrations for those under 16 years of age, the billing address must be the guardian's information.

2) By phone 044 7301 398 between 8:00 and 15:00. Note! Registrations will not be accepted by voicemail or email. Online registration is open 24 hours a day.

 

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Learn about the Ikaalinen Community College's study program on the website or in the study program sent to your home. When you register for the course, you agree to pay the course fee and follow the payment and cancellation terms and conditions of Ikaalinen Community College. The invoice will be sent to your home address or as an e-invoice if you have made an e-invoice agreement. If you registered for a course that lasts the entire academic year in the fall, the registration is automatically valid for the spring semester as well. The course place is personal. If you register a child for the course, use the child's personal information. Fill in all fields of the personal information form carefully and send it to the college electronically. The identity must be completely and correctly identified, for example, for the purpose of tracking payments, therefore the entire personal identification number is mandatory.

Register for the course in the online store:

• Press the Add to Cart button next to the course you want, you can add multiple courses to the cart.
• Fill in your details on the registration form. The course will remain in your shopping cart for 20 minutes. Finally, press the Submit button.
• You will always receive a confirmation email after registering, please also check your spam folder.

If the course is full, you will be given a replacement place. When a place becomes available, we will notify you by text message.

You can check your registrations from the link in the confirmation email.

Discounts on course fees:

Note! The online service does not take into account any possible discounts when registering: All discounts will be reflected in the invoice that will be sent to students as an e-invoice.

The unemployed: Unemployed job seekers registered in Ikaalinen and Jämijärvi can participate in courses at a reduced price for those under 16. Discounts for the unemployed do not apply to short courses or specially priced courses. To receive a discount, please submit a copy of your job seeker card or other proof to the office by email no later than before the second meeting of the course. heli.koistinen@ikaalinen.fi

Children under 16 years old can participate in courses at reduced prices. The discount does not apply to short courses or specially priced courses.

Student discount: Ikaalinen-passport is available to students in the second level who are enrolled in Ikaalinen. The duration of the study must be at least one academic year. You can get the passport by sending your study certificate with contact information and a photo (email) to the Ikaalinen City Office at hannu.haapala@ikaalinen.fi or by visiting the office during opening hours Mon-Fri 8:00-15:30. The passport requires the student's own photo in electronic format to the email. You can get a new academic year sticker for your passport from the school office. Once you have received your passport, send a photo of it to the school office. heli.koistinen@ikaalinen.fi

Sibling discount: The first child in the family will be charged the normal course fee and the other children in the family will receive a 30% discount on the cheapest course fee. The discount does not apply to short courses or adult and child courses. Children can register for courses as usual online or by phone. If registering online, siblings who are eligible for the discount must be notified by email or by calling the office. This way we ensure that all siblings are given a discount.

Finnish National Board of Education subsidized courses for pensioners, immigrants and the unemployed: The Finnish National Board of Education has granted Ikaalinen Adult Education Centre a grant to reduce course fees. Pensioners, immigrants and the unemployed are eligible for the grant. Courses covered by the grant are marked in the study programme with the “study voucher grant” tag. The eligibility criteria for the study voucher grant will be reviewed if necessary. The course is free of charge for those covered by the grant unless a deductible has been specified.

We also accept the following payment methods:
• Smartum
• ePassport
• Edenred

A. You can pay for the course via the Smartum or ePass icon that appears on the screen when you register.

B. If you pay with the ePassi, Smartum or Edenred mobile app, take a screenshot of the payment and send it to the institute office before the course starts. heli.koistinen@ikaalinen.fi Please indicate the name of the course you paid for in the message.

Contact the office if
• you only pay part of the course fee with the above payment methods
• you registered after the course had already started and paid with the above payment methods
• you pay for the course with a paper Smartum voucher
• pay with the ePassi, Smartum and Edenred mobile applications.

Please indicate the name of the course you paid for in the message.

If a course is cancelled, we will not refund any payments made by other means of payment. In this case, you can transfer the payment to another course.

Cancellations:

Any cancellation must be made before the start of the course by notifying the school office at tel. 044 7301 398. Cancellations can also be made via this online program. Participation can be cancelled free of charge if there are at least 5 days before the start of the course, or 10 days for short courses. If there are less than 5 days before the start of the course, or less than 10 days for short courses, we will charge the full course fee.

A course place cannot be cancelled by the teacher. Not attending a course does not cancel the course place.
The course place is personal and cannot be transferred to another person.

The course fee is course-specific. The course fee does not include learning materials or study and work supplies. The course fee for students under 18 years of age will be sent to the guardian/payer.

The institute reserves the right to make changes to the course information stated in the curriculum. If the institute significantly changes the date or location of the course, we may refund part of the course fee.

Information

We will not send a separate reminder when the course starts. If the course is cancelled, we will generally notify you by text message.
