NOTICE about applying for early childhood education

Does your family need an early childhood education place next fall?
The application period for early childhood education places that will become available in autumn 2026 is 2-22 March 2026.
The application is for new children starting early childhood education or families who want to change their child's early childhood education place!

NOTICE on payment decisions for early childhood education and morning and afternoon activities 

The information system for the administration of early childhood education and morning and afternoon activities (Päikky) has been updated on 1 December 2023. The payment decisions that have recently entered into force will be sent to all families again via the Suomi.fi service on 4-5 January 2024. The payment decisions will remain unchanged and will not require any action on your part. However, if the information affecting the payment decision has changed, please contact us. You can contact us via suomi.fi messages or by email to the office secretary Soile Tuomela (soile.tuomela@ikaalinen.fi).

The introduction of electronic services required a Suomi.fi login. Log in to electronic transactions using strong authentication, i.e. either bank credentials or a mobile certificate. If you have not accepted electronic communication from authorities, you will receive the decision by letter within approximately seven (7) business days of the decision being sent.

BULLETIN ON THE ELECTRONIC SERVICE FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION 

The early childhood education administration information system (Päikky) will be updated on December 1, 2023, after which guardians will have the opportunity to receive decisions on early childhood education and morning and afternoon activities electronically in the Suomi.fi service. 

The introduction of electronic services required a Suomi.fi login.  Log in to electronic transactions using strong authentication, i.e. either bank credentials or a mobile certificate.

The system update will not affect your daily use of Päikky.
