Student welfare personnel work in schools and educational institutions to promote the well-being of children and young people, supporting both individuals and the entire school and educational institution community in cooperation with other personnel. There is no need to wait for help until concerns become serious. The task of student welfare professionals is to offer support, advice and guidance as early as possible if there is something concerning their well-being, coping, schooling or life situation that concerns them.
You can discuss issues related to nutrition, sleep, exercise, mood, relationships, or puberty with the school nurse, for example. Support and advice are also available in situations related to parenting and family well-being.
