School health care

School health care is intended for primary school children and their families. It is a free preventive service that is mainly available during school days.

The task of school health care is, among other things, to promote the growth and development of students, as well as their health and well-being. Appointments for the school doctor are made through the school nurse.

In elementary school, health checks are carried out 9 times during comprehensive school, meaning that students in all age groups are checked annually. During upper secondary school, a medical check-up is carried out in the 8th grade, and a youth health certificate is also issued at the same time. 

School health care follows the principle of low threshold, meaning that anyone can come and discuss their symptoms and other concerns. Parents are always welcome to attend the check-ups.
