Tevaniemi wind farm sub-plan

Tevaniemen Tuuli Oy (responsible for the project) is planning a wind power project in the Tevaniemi area of ​​Ikaalinen.

The planning area is located approximately 10 kilometers north of the center of Ikaalinen. The goal of the planning is to enable the construction of a maximum of 9 wind turbines and the associated service roads and underground cables by preparing a legally effective master plan in accordance with Section 77 a of the Finnish Land Use and Development Act, which can be used directly as a basis for granting a construction permit for a wind turbine.

The Ikaalinen Environmental Board decided on 8 December 2020 to initiate the partial master planning of the Tevaniemi wind power project under Section 54. The OAS was on display from 13 January to 11 February 2022. A presentation of the master plan material and the draft YVA report was held on Wednesday 18 May 2022. The preparatory material was on display from 11 May to 9 June 2022.

The draft plan for the Tevaniemi wind power sub-plan was on display from 13 April to 12 May 2023.

The proposed plan was available for inspection at Technical Services (Kolmen airon katu 3) and on the city's website.

Participants and municipal members were able to express their opinions on the proposed plan during the viewing period.

The presentation of the proposed plan was held on April 19, 2023, from 17:30 to 19:30

It was also possible to participate in the event remotely (Teams).

The Ikaalinen City Council has approved the partial master plan for the Tevaniemi wind farm on 30 October 2023 (§ 85).

Supreme Administrative Court 24.10.2025, decision 2387/2025 The Supreme Administrative Court overturns the decisions of the Administrative Court and the Ikaalinen City Council.

Tevaniemi wind farm partial master plan area building ban

The City Council has decided, by its decision of 28.11.2022, Section 82, to impose a building ban on the Tevaniemi Wind Farm Partial Master Plan area, which is valid for 5 years, however, at most until the plan has entered into force. The construction restriction in the area does not apply to earthworks that alter the landscape, felling of trees or other comparable measures pursuant to Section 128 of the Land Use and Building Act.
