Partial master plan for Konikallio wind farm

The aim of the preparation of the partial master plans for the Konikallio wind farm is to enable the location of the wind farm in the area and to enable the implementation of a maximum of 15 wind farms in the planning area. The unit power of each wind farm is approximately 6–10 MW and the total height of the wind farms is a maximum of 350 metres. The wind farm will consist of wind farms with their foundations, underground cables or overhead lines connecting them, and the wind farm substation. The wind farm will be connected to the electricity grid of the distribution network company Caruna Oy via a new, approximately 14–15 km long 110 kV power line, which will be implemented as an overhead line or underground cable. The total area of ​​the plan area is approximately 14 km², of which approximately 8 km² is located in the Ikaalinen area and approximately 6 km² in the Hämeenkyrö area.

OAS was on display from April 1 to May 9, 2022.

A joint and open public meeting of the municipalities on zoning was organized on April 28, 2022.

The draft plan was on display from March 6 to April 22, 2024.

PLANNING PROPOSAL

The proposal plans to build a maximum of 15 wind turbines in the wind farm area. Each wind turbine will have a maximum unit capacity of 10 MW and a maximum total height of 300 meters.

The City Council has decided on 08.12.2025 § 263 to re-display the draft plan and preparatory materials for the partial master plan of the Konikallio wind power park for the information and consultation of stakeholders and authorities. The planning documents for the proposal phase will be available for viewing from 17.12.2025 to 16.01.2026 on the city's website. The planning documents are also available for reading at the Ikaalinen City Library (Poppelikatu 10) and the technical office (Kolmen Airon katu 3).

A public meeting regarding the master plan project was held on Thursday, November 27.11.2025, 17 from 20-20 p.m. in the Altin sali, Eino Salmelaisen katu XNUMX, Ikaalinen. There was an opportunity to submit questions in advance regarding the plan on the Ilmatar Energy Oy website.

Building ban in the Konikallio wind farm sub-plan area

The City Council has decided, by its decision of 7 November 2022, Section 65, to impose a building ban on the Konikallio Wind Farm partial master plan area, which is valid for 5 years, however, at most until the plan has become legally binding. The construction restriction in the area does not apply to earthworks that alter the landscape, felling of trees or other comparable measures pursuant to Section 128 of the Land Use and Building Act.
