Development of outdoor sports areas in the city center

The starting point for the development of the city center's outdoor sports areas is to transform and adapt the baseball park area and the athletics park environment into areas that serve a variety of sports and other recreational activities. The aim is for the park areas to reach as wide a range of user groups as possible in the future.

The usage plan was publicly available from May 24 to June 10, 2018.

An open meeting for residents was held at Valkean ruusun school on 28 September 2017. The meeting presented draft options and gave residents the opportunity to hear, discuss, ask questions and have their say. Residents, landowners and other interested parties were welcome to attend. Representatives of the City of Ikaalinen and representatives of Ramboll Finland Oy, the company that prepared the plan, were present.
