There was an error in printing the stormwater fee invoice and some invoices had the invoice line printed twice.

If your invoice has two invoice lines with the same content, you can leave the second line of the invoice unpaid.

If you have already paid the invoice or the invoice is a direct payment, please contact the City of Ikaalinen so that we can correct the payment.

We apologize for the error in printing invoices.

A notification about the error has been sent by mail to those customers who are affected.

Stormwater is rainwater and meltwater drained away from built-up areas. Stormwater is generated from foundation water and surface runoff from building roofs, courtyards, street areas and parks. Stormwater is drained into the ground by absorption or into water bodies in pipe drains and ditches. Stormwater management is part of basic infrastructure. The purpose of stormwater management is to prevent water-related damage to properties and the environment.

Stormwater system

The Technical Committee decided on 31.5.2023 May 33, §1.1.2024, that the area affected by the stormwater system will cover the town and building plan areas from XNUMX January XNUMX.

Properties do not need to be concretely connected to, for example, a wetland. Street drainage systems serve many properties without a concrete connection.

After stormwater sewer networks have become part of the municipal stormwater system, properties are no longer assigned a connection point in accordance with the Water Management Act, but a boundary point in accordance with the Land Use Act. Stormwater fee
Annual stormwater fees cover the costs of maintaining and constructing stormwater systems.

The recipient of a stormwater bill has the right to submit an objection to the bill to the Ikaalinen City Environmental Committee within 21 days of the date of the bill.at the address: Kolmen airon katu 3, 39500 Ikaalinen or by email to kanslia.teknisetpalvelut@ikaalinen.fi. The objection must include the invoice recipient's information, the invoice number, and the justification for the objection.

Stormwater fees are charged to all properties located in town and building plan areas.

The city is responsible for organizing stormwater management in the planned area (Technical Decree/9.12.2015/71§).

The provisions of Chapter 13a of the Regional Land Use Act (Section 103a) apply to the management of rainwater or meltwater accumulating on the ground surface, the roof of a building or other surface in a built-up area.
