2 Purpose and application of the rules of procedure  

The purpose of the rules of order is to promote internal order in the school, the smooth running of studies, and the safety and comfort of the school community.   

Ikaalinen Co-educational School follows the school's rules and regulations and current legislation.  

Rules of conduct are observed during school hours on school grounds and in learning environments determined by the teacher, as well as at events organized by the school.  

3 Student rights and obligations  

3.1 Student equality, equity and other rights  

Students have the right to free basic education, the right to equal and fair treatment, the right to personal freedom and physical integrity, and the right to protection of private life.   

Students have the right to receive instruction on all school working days, the right to a safe learning environment, and other benefits and services specified in legislation.   

No one is bullied during the school day. Ikaalinen Co-educational School uses the KiVa School program (anti-bullying program).    

3.2 Student responsibilities  

The student has   

obligation to participate in education until compulsory education has been completed.  
the obligation to perform one's duties conscientiously and behave appropriately.  
obligation to attend classes unless he or she has been granted permission to be absent.  
together with their guardian, they are obliged to ensure that schoolwork is completed during the leave of absence.
  

4 Safety, comfort and unhindered study  

4.1 Good behavior  

At Ikaalinen Co-educational School, students behave appropriately and participate in lessons by completing the tasks assigned by the teacher. Agreed times are strictly adhered to.  

During lessons, students respect the teacher's and other students' speech by remaining silent during the lessons. Their own actions aim to promote peaceful study.  

When going to eat, queue calmly, follow good eating habits. Do not use your phone while eating. Leave outerwear and backpacks outside the canteen.  

Students come to school dressed appropriately and appropriately. Clothing should not offend others or be contrary to good manners.  

A photograph or video taken of another person may not be published on the internet, social media, or in any other public place without their permission.  

4.2 Residence and movement  

The class teacher shows the boundaries of the break time area to the students. The transition route from Ikaalinen Cooperative School to Valkean ruusun School is reviewed with the students.  

When picking up children from school, it is recommended to follow the instructions on good behavior given by the school.   

Students will not be removed from the school grounds during the school day without an educational or other justified reason.  

4.3 Taking care of cleanliness and the environment  

Students have a responsibility to take care of school property, learning materials and their own belongings, to respect the property of others and to take their trash to the trash can.  

The school has a normal liability for damages. A student may be required to clean or organize school property that they have soiled or left in disarray.  

4.4 Safety  

It is the responsibility of every student to notify a member of school staff of any safety-related defect or deficiency they observe.   

Bicycles, mopeds and other means of transportation are only stored in designated places.  

Throwing snowballs is prohibited in winter.  

The school property is monitored by recording indoor and outdoor surveillance cameras.   

4.5 Using a computer, phone or other mobile device  

Computers, mobile devices, and the school network owned by the school or students may only be used for teaching purposes as specified in the lessons. 

The teacher determines whether the above-mentioned devices will be used during the lesson. Their other use during the lesson is prohibited as it is disruptive to the lesson. The teacher may require the student to bring the device that is disruptive to the lesson to the desk for the rest of the lesson, and if necessary, the device will be taken away from the student for the rest of the school day.

The use of phones during the school day and on school grounds is prohibited. Students should keep their phones in their pockets, lockers, or school bags. During lessons, teachers may collect phones from the phone park. If necessary, the phone may be taken from the student for the duration of the school day. 

4.6 Intoxicants and dangerous objects  

It is prohibited to bring objects or substances to school that are prohibited by law, dangerous, or intended to damage property.

The ban applies to, among other things, alcohol, tobacco and tobacco products as defined in the Tobacco Act, energy drinks, narcotics as defined in the Narcotics Act, knives, firearms, powerful laser pointers and similar objects and substances. The use of energy drinks during the school day is not recommended.

4.7 Discipline  

If it is discovered that the rules of conduct have been violated during the school day, the student may be

The teacher and principal have the right to inspect a student's belongings. The principal or teacher may also take possession of disruptive or dangerous objects or substances if necessary.   

The school principal and teacher have an official duty to report any harassment, bullying or violence that they become aware of at school or on a school trip to the guardian or other legal representative of the student who committed the act and who is the target of the act. 

5 Monitoring and reviewing the rules of procedure  

The rules of order are reviewed in connection with the preparation of the academic year plan, and school-specific information on their implementation is processed by the school's student welfare group.
