Early voting

Early voting (advance voting) means casting a vote during the early voting period provided for in the Election Act before the actual election day.

No reason needs to be given for early voting. Early voting is a free choice for voters instead of voting on election day. Each voter may vote early at any public early voting location, either in Finland or abroad, of their choice.

Domestically Early voting begins on Wednesday, the 11th day before Election Day, and ends on Tuesday, the 5th day before Election Day. There is at least one general early voting location in each municipality. In larger municipalities, there are usually several general early voting locations. Usually, an early voting location is open on all seven early voting days. However, some locations may be open for a shorter period.

Abroad Early voting begins on Wednesday, the 11th day before election day, and ends on Saturday, the 8th day before election day. Early voting locations abroad are Finnish missions and their offices designated by government decree. Many early voting locations abroad are open on all four early voting days. However, some locations may be open for a shorter period.

Advance voting in Finland will take place from January 29.5 to 23, 2024.

Wed 29.5.–Fri 31.5. 11 am–17 pm

Sat 1.6.–Sun 2.6. 12 am–16 pm

Mon 3.6.-Tue 4.6. 11 am-18 pm
