Employment Services – Ikaalinen

 

Are you about to become unemployed? Are you facing a period of layoffs or a shortened workweek?  
 
Remember to register as a job seeker as soon as possible. The easiest way to do this is to log in online to the Job Market. 
Personal customers – Job Market 

You will need your bank details or mobile certificate to log in. When your job application is open, we will contact you within a few days, usually by phone, and arrange an interview time at Employment Services, Vanha Tampereentie 11.  
 
In an urgent matter, you can also open a job search at the Customer Service Point, where you can get help and use a public terminal.  
 

During 2026, Suomi.fi messages will be available to you when you log in to one of the authorities' online services. 

When you use strong authentication, an electronic mailbox will be created for you for Suomi.fi messages. In the future, you will receive mail sent by the authorities as digital mail in Suomi.fi messages. The change applies to adults who use official online services.

I am working or studying, but I need help finding a job   

You can open a job search even if you are working or studying. You are usually not entitled to unemployment benefits at that time, but you have the opportunity to make use of other employment services. 

The employment services of the city of Ikaalinen support job seekers, employers and young people to promote employment, education and inclusion. Our services help with job search, career planning and skills development, and offer companies assistance with recruitment.

 

For a job seeker

We offer individual guidance and advice for job searching, finding educational paths and career planning. Our services include, among others:

– employment and recruitment services

– information, advice and guidance services

– vocational and career guidance

– job search and career coaching

– workforce training and change safety training

Employment is supported through wage subsidies, work trials and start-up grants.

 

To the employer

We help companies find skilled labor and offer tailored solutions for recruitment situations in cooperation with various actors. Our services include, among others:

– recruitment advice

– information about wage subsidies and other forms of support

– help in finding suitable employees

 

Western Pirkanmaa employment area

Ikaalinen belongs to the Western Pirkanmaa employment area, which offers broader services in cooperation with the municipalities in the area. In addition to Ikaalinen, the municipalities in the Western Pirkanmaa employment area include Sastamala, Punkalaidun, Hämeenkyrö, Parkano and Kihniö. Sastamala acts as the lead municipality for the employment area.
