Recreational use and watercourse restoration study of the Väärä and Poltinjoki rivers – project

The main implementer is Ikaalisten Kylpyläkaupunki Oy, with project partners being the city of Ikaalisten and the Kokemäenjoki Water Conservation Association (KVVY).

During the project, a plan and a separate preliminary study for the rehabilitation of the watershed and recreational structures will be prepared, the measures of which can be implemented in follow-up projects. The project also includes information. If necessary, the project will also rehabilitate the Vääräjoki and Poltinjoki canoeing routes by removing wooden material on the canoeing route that prevents safe use of the route.

After completion, the project will benefit kayakers on the river, as well as area residents and landowners, as the recreational values ​​and amenity of the area will increase.

The project implements the local strategy's focus areas of nature and rural tourism, as well as retention and attraction.

The project has ended on July 31.12.2025, XNUMX.

The project is co-financed by the European Rural Development Fund.
